Lucien Ellington

Lucien Ellington is a UC Foundation Professor of Education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he is Director of the UTC Asia Program and the Center for Reflective Citizenship. A former public school teacher and administrator, Ellington’s interests include economic history, liberal education, educational reform, and history and economic education. He is the author of four books on Japan, over 80 articles and essays on northeast Asia, history and social science education, economic history, and educational reform. Ellington is founding editor of the pedagogical journal, Education About Asia, the editor of two book series, and a Senior Fellow with the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He has been a speaker in institutes for educators throughout the U.S. and in Korea and Japan, as well as in forums and organizations ranging from the American Enterprise Institute to the Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal.

Lucien currently serves as the school board president.
